A GLANCE AT "PT. NICHINDO MANADO SUISAN"

Indonesia is one of the countries with immense fishery potential in the world. Leveraging this potential, we, PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan, process fish to produce items such as Smoked Skipjack Tuna (KATSUOBUSHI), and its derivative products, namely shredded and powdered broth products. The production and sales at PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan are a collaboration with the Japanese company, Marumo Co., Ltd, aiming to enhance product and service quality. We sell our products in Indonesia, Japan, and other countries.

HISTORY

In 1995, under the name PT. Saruntawaya, complete with all its permits, located in Mobongo, Amurang District, Minahasa Regency, production of KATSUOBUSHI began in cooperation with a Japanese company. This product originated in Japan and was produced in large quantities; it's important to note that katsuobushi is a primary seasoning in Japanese cuisine.

In 2000, the company built a new factory located in Pondang Village, Amurang District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, under the new name PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan. In 2002, katsuobushi production commenced. In 2010, we obtained HACCP certification. Subsequently, in 2013, PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan developed derivative products from KATSUOBUSHI, in the form of shredded skipjack tuna known as Kezuribushi. Due to increased sales and consumer demand, we created a variety of new products, such as Broth Powder, along with other derivative products.

The Japanese company collaborating with PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan is Marumo Co., Ltd, a company with a much longer history. It was founded in 1928 in Makurazaki, Japan, initially named "Ohshigeshouten". In 1962, the company changed its name to "Marumo Suisan Co., Ltd", and then in 1982, it was changed to "Marumo Co., Ltd". Marumo focuses on the production of katsuobushi and its derivative products, including various types of dashi, dashi powder, dashi packs, and furikake, with a strong commitment to product quality and safety. Marumo Co., Ltd operates several production facilities, including its head office and factory in Kagoshima, and a factory in Makurazaki. Marumo Co., Ltd and PT. Nichindo Manado Suisan began their collaboration in 2015. This partnership was driven by the increasing demand for shredded bonito flakes, coinciding with the global appreciation for Japanese food. Therefore, Marumo Co., Ltd aims to expand the distribution reach of their high-quality products to the international market, especially in Indonesia, by utilizing the strategic location of North Sulawesi, known for its abundance of skipjack tuna. We also supply high-quality shredded bonito flakes worldwide from Indonesia. Since then, large-scale sales to overseas markets have commenced. We aim to pass on the delicious and authentic taste of original shredded bonito flakes as a traditional food ingredient to future generations, while proactively proposing new flavors and enhancing the quality of Japanese food worldwide.
